Morley’s Final Catalogue: In Southwold town during August 1900 and a few in Monks Soham garden on 19 October 1905 (Morley).

Recent Status: Widespread and well recorded in Suffolk.

Life Style: the species is double or triple brooded and the adults hibernate and so may be found throughout the year. The larvae feed on a variety of Umbelifer leaves.

Identification: A narrow winged brown and black species with some white and ochre markings. An intricately marked species with a slightly hooked apex. The dorsum has four scale tufts, decreasing in size towards the tornus, that sit erect with the moth at rest.
The larvae initially mine a blotch before leaving to graze beneath the leaves under a slight webbing. There will usually be several larvae per leaf. More Info
